The living-lab project is developed by the San Felix school, which is a concerted school in the small town of Ortuella, Bizkaia. It is a very advanced educational centre in terms of infrastructure and the innovative character of its teachers. San Felix School participated in the OSOS project and collaborates in other initiatives with local entities.
This school community started its living-lab project after identifying that students wanted to apply the knowledge acquired in class to people who may have more difficulties in knowing how to prepare healthy menus. 49 students from 14 to 15 years old and 47 students from 15 to 16 years old with 4 teachers were involved in the project and designed it according to the SALL project phases.
The school collaborated with stakeholders such as Comparte Association, a food bank for families with economic needs in Ortuella, Gure Etxea and Gessyma-Galea, a catering company and company-laboratory for quality control and food consultancy which prepare the daily menus for the school, and with the department of Physical Education at the University of Deusto.
